Following the 2023 final in Istanbul, the 2023/24 Champions League season will commence with the preliminary qualifying round on June 13. However, the majority of top teams won’t enter the competition until the group stage in September, with the road to the final at Wembley Stadium being a long one. As in previous competitions, the group stage will consist of 32 teams divided into eight groups of four. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Round of 16 knockout phase. The specific details of the group stage will be confirmed at the end of August, but each European nation already knows how many spots they have been allotted in the tournament.

The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup officially begins on July 20 in Auckland.
