KICK OFF!

Bayern Munich have won their last five away Bundesliga games.

The visitors get us underway in this first half.


SAVE! That was a good chance for Union.


CHANCE! It’s a lovely ball by Florian Hubner but went straight into the path of Anthony Ujah but he blasts his right-foot drive high and wide.


Boateng and David Alaba are an enforced pairing at the heart of the Bayern defence with the likes of Niklas Sule still out injured.


BOOKED! A card for Christopher Lenz after his rash on Benjamin Pavard.


NO GOAL! The Union players had their hands up signalling offside and upon review, the referee has ruled out the goal!

Without VAR, it would be 1-0 to the the Reds, but replays show Muller’s knee was just ahead of Gnabry before heading for the ball towards goal. 

Union have managed to navigate the opening 30 minutes as Thiago is penalised for a foul on Promel.


WIDE! Trimmel’s delivery is met by a deflection and it presents Union with another opportunity from the corner but Kimmich does well to clear at the near post.


PENALTY BAYERN! to Bayern..

GOAL! UNION BERLIN 0-1 BAYERN MUNICH (Lewandowski pen, 40)

Robert Lewandowski marks his return to the side with his 26th Bundesliga goal of the season – his 40th in all competitions. 


Goretzka wins the corner on the counter-attack.


Four additional minutes at the end of this half as Muller’s shot is blocked by Lenz.


45+2: Christopher Trimmel’s cross is headed wide by Ujah via a deflection.


HT: Union Berlin had some bright early moments through Marius Bulter and Anthony Ujah.

Thomas Muller’s goal was disallowed.

Robert Lewandowski’s strike means the visitors lead at the break.


SECOND HALF

Sebastian Andersson remains on the bench.


Brilliant build-up from Bayern and a lovely ball from Benjamin Pavard.


Keven Schlotterbeck goes into the book for catching Leon Goretzka.


Trimmel finds space down the right to cross towards Ujah, and Boateng slides across and diverts the ball into the gloves of Neuer!


Thomas Muller chops inside down the right and stand up a cross to the far post for Lewandowski but Lenz is in the right place to clear.

Pavard directs his header a yard wide of the post!


Muller brings in Gnabry again down the left but the shot is blocked before Pavard and Kimmich are unable to combine. 

There’s one or two Union Berlin substitutes who are now jogging up and down the touchline.

 


Markus Hoffman makes the changes with Robert Andrich and Anthony Ujah replaced by Sebastian Andersson and Christian Gentner.

Bayern also make an alteration as Kingsley Coman takes the place of Goretzka.


Coman wins a corner down the right off Lenz, to be taken by Kimmich but cleared at the near post.

GOAL! UNION BERLIN 0-2 BAYERN MUNICH (Pavard, 80)

Bayern are set to re-establish their four-point lead.


Ivan Perisic comes on to replace Gnabry while Joshua Mees is on for Union in place of Marcus Ingvartsen while Julian Ryerson is on for Marius Bulter.


Bayern will be moving onto 58 points to Dortmund’s 54 ahead of their meeting in the title race at Signal Iduna Park.


Thomas Muller makes way for Michael Cuisance.


Robert Lewandowski’s 26th league goal of the season ensured a winning return to Bundesliga action, beating Union Berlin 2-0 to re-establish a four-point lead at the top.

Benjamin Pavard’s second-half header added to Lewandowski’s opener from the penalty spot as Union were beaten at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei.
