UEFA Super Cup: Bayern Munich vs. Sevilla – prediction, team news, lineups
Champions League winners Bayern Munich take on Europa League champions Sevilla in the European Super Cup at the Puskas Arena in Hungary on Thursday.
German champions Bayern have gone 31 matches without defeat in all competitions and winning 30 of those. That run include victories over Chelsea and Barcelona at the end of last season to beating Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
Bayern will now compete in the UEFA Super Cup for a fourth time having defeated Chelsea on pens in the 2013 edition.
This is Sevilla’s fourth appearance in six seasons, though they have lost each of those previous three games. Their last month’s 3-2 win over Inter Milan in the final seeing them win it for a sixth time in 15 years.
Sevilla also eliminated Roma, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester United in the mini knockout tournament.
