The end of Aaron Ramsey’s career at Arsenal.
Unai Emery has confirmed that Aaron Ramsey played his final match for Arsenal after reports came out that the midfielder will miss the rest of the season due to a hamstring injury.
The Welshman hobbled off against Napoli but the injury was more serious than we all thought and he wil have to face up to two months on the sidelines. If the Gunners beat Valencia to reach the Europa League final this Thursday, Ramsey will still not be fit in time to play a part before leaving to join Juventus as a free agent in the summer.
Ramsey played an important role for Arsenal in recent months, when he scored against Napoli in the quarter-final first leg, Arsenal’s manager Unai Emery admits the club will miss the 28-year-old hugely.
‘We can’t use him, injuries come for players like that and we have players who can play,’ Emery explained
‘But he was in a good moment when he took this injury. I had a good experience with him, he transmitted his energy and his heart is red like Arsenal. ‘I wanted to enjoy this with him. I said to him I wanted to do something important with you.’
Aaron played so many years here at Arsenal, he is so important for the club and the players because he did so much especially to the new players.
‘He signed for Juventus but he is still a professional and always fought for the club. ‘Some other players might stop fighting — but he loves this club so he stayed 100 per cent. He has a great mentality. I will miss him a lot — we have good memories.’
