Saudi Arabia players threatened with punishment

The president of the country’s football federation threatened a number of players with disciplinary punishment on their return from the World Cup.

The Saudi’s suffered a devastating 5–0 loss to the hosts thanks to a brilliant brace from Denis Cheryshev, Aleksandr Golovin and two well-timed headed goals. Which may lead them to an early exit!

Goalkeeper Abdullah Al-Mayouf, striker Mohammad Al-Sahlawi and defender Omar Hawsawi were all identified as the players facing a “penalty” when they get home, though concern has been raised about the nature of such punishment.
