Preview: Wales vs. Switzerland – prediction, team news, lineups

Wales begin their Euro 2020 adventure with a showdown against Switzerland in Baku on Saturday.

Both sides have ambitions of reaching the first knockout round but Group A is the most competitive of the lot. The Dragons are battling with Switzerland and Turkey for second place behind Italy in Group A, Wales have defeated a lot of nations over the past year.

Wales do not qualify for major tournaments but they have reached the quarter-finals in the 1958 World Cup and semis at Euro 2016.

Euro 2020 kick-starts in June 2021 with 51 matches after the tournament was postponed last summer, due to the COVID pandemic but they will go ahead with fans in stadiums across the continent.
