Southampton and Newcastle United will meet at St Mary’s Stadium for Friday evening’s showdown.

Southampton came out on top in a seven-goal thriller with Aston Villa at the weekend, while Newcastle gave Everton their second defeat of the season last time out.

A James Ward-Prowse-goal picked up all three points against Aston Villa side last Sunday, after Jannik Vestergaard had opened the scoring and before Danny Ings in the second half.

Ollie Watkins and Jack Grealish both netted in added time – but Ralph Hasenhuttl‘s held on for a thrilling victory which has lifted them up to fifth in the table.
