Manchester United transfer news
Jadon Sancho
The Borussia Dortmund forward wants to join the Red Devils three years after leaving their local rivals Man City, and his contractlength, salary, bonuses and buyout clause have all been agreed.
His value is likely to rise given Chelsea and Liverpool may instigate a bidding war amid their interest in Sancho.
Ed Woodward
Ed Woodward says Man United remain committed to backing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“It’s always a top priority for us to strengthen the team and build on what Ole is very clearly achieving in terms of bringing us back to the top. But we’ve got to have clarity on what the future holds. What will happen with the remainder of this season? What is the impact on next season? Is it behind closed doors or in front of fans? What’s the impact on broadcast deals, sponsorship deals? What’s the impact on domestic cups? Etc, etc. There are many, many moving parts. It is not necessarily going to be business-as-usual for clubs this summer. It feels somewhat inappropriate to see speculation about transfers for hundreds of millions in current circumstances. There’s a big disconnect between those stories and the economic realities facing football clubs in general. Clearly it’s true we are fortunate to be in a strong financial position compared to many clubs, but we are not immune from the financial impact of what this virus is doing. I would say that once we have the visibility of a path through the crisis and coming out of the other side to relative normality, then of course we aim to remain highly competitive in the market. As I said before and I’ve said this many times – we remain committed to backing Ole to win trophies. That’s our core objective as a club,” Woodward.
Dayot Upamecano
Manchester United have joined the race for Dayot Upamecano, \whose training facilities Upamecano visited before he joined Salzburg in 2016. Arsenal have made the RB Leipzig man a top target but could miss out due to their financial issues.
Marcus Rashford
Real Madrid and Barcelona will try to sign Marcus Rashford from Man United in the future.
“I think he’s just going to go from strength to strength to strength. Mark my words, I think a club like Barcelona or Real Madrid will come knocking because I think he’s an exceptional talent, and he’s mentally strong. For a person at such a young age, he’s played a lot of football. He is mentally strong. He’s a terrific player. You need things like this in your career that you can bounce back from. He’s come out and said Jose Mourinho has kind of helped him because you want situations like that to happen in your career where you become mentally strong. But, for me, Rashford is one of the best footballers around at the moment,” Clinton Morrison .
James Rodriguez
James Rodriguez’s agent has contacted Manchester United over a possible move in the summer.
James Maddison
James Maddison insists he’s happy at Leicester despite being linked with several other top clubs.
“I feel right at home at Leicester. I feel like part of the furniture already and I love it here. I love the lads, I love the fans, (we’ve got) a great manager, so I’m very, very happy.”
Mason Greenwood
Borussia Dortmund reportedly wanted Mason Greenwood in return when Manchester United tried to sign Jadon Sancho last summer.
Dortmund called for them to include Greenwood in a swap deal for Sancho.
Bruno Fernandes
“He’s been brilliant since he’s come in, off the field around the training ground, he’s a leader and wants to win, everything he does he wants to win, you can tell he’s been brought up with that attitude. He’s just given us that little bit more life and creativity in the middle, something (pundits) and United fans have said we’ve missed over the years,” Harry Maguire said.
Harry Kane
Tottenham have no intention of selling their talisman this summer.
Jack Grealish
Grealish’s conduct during the coronavirus has led to some question marks over Man United’s continued interest in the midfielder.
Antoine Griezmann
United have tried to sign Griezmann before, in 2017, when the forward was at Atletico Madrid but their failed in their attempts.
Victor Osimhen
The Nigerian striker has been linked with a move to Manchester United following an impressive season with Lille.
