Man Utd 3-1 Brighton: Report

2023 CECAFA U18: Group A Standings and Upcoming Matches
November 10, 2019

Two goals in two first-half minutes for Manchester United display over Brighton at Old Trafford, as the hosts went on to win 3-1 in Sunday’s Premier League clash.

They have Premier League clashes against Tottenham and Manchester City to come and earning maximum points against Brighton, Sheffield United and Aston Villa in the build-up will be crucial ahead of the double-header.

Brighton’s season will not be judged after this match, and we will hope for both positive and negative results for Potter’s side this season. However, all that aside, in the end some superior forward play from the hosts was just too much for the Seagulls to handle, who created very little with their possession all match.

Pascal Gross made the difference for the Seagulls when he was brought for the start of the second half after he added some creativity in forward areas.

United are on their travels as they head to Yorkshire to take on Sheffield United on the 24th. Brighton are back at the Amex Stadium as they play host to Leicester City on the 23rd.

Arsenal’s Miserable Start to the Season

Traveling up to the King Power Stadium, nothing other than a win, or at the very least a credible point, would have have given hope to their supporters who want fast and efficient change at Arsenal, starting with the manager being relieved of his duties.

Jamie Vardy and James Maddison got to give the Gunners another miserable away performance.

In Emery’s 50 Premier League matches in charge, the Gunners have earned a poor 87 points (W25, D7, L13), one point fewer than they accrued during the final 50-match stretch they embarked on under the much Wenger (W27, D7, L16).

Arsenal have 17 points with a -1 goals difference is their worst start to a top-flight season after 12 games since the 1982/83 campaign (15 points). Back in the 2014/15 season, they could also only muster 17 points at this stage, but at least on that occasion they possessed a +5 goals difference.
