Juventus welcomed Lyon to the Allianz Stadium last night, for the 2nd-leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

Juve entered the clash after a deserved 1-0 defeat in the tie’s opener back in February.

Memphis Depay handed Lyon an early lead from the penalty spot, Cristiano Ronaldo levelled things up with a spot-kick of his own, before he scored a 2nd from distance on the hour-mark.

The result did not prove enough to see the Old Lady book a quarter-final spot, with a 2-2 aggregate scoreline having sent Lyon through on the away goals rule.

Juve’s exit has since proven hugely costly for Maurizio Sarri.

In an announcement across the club’s official website and social media platforms a short time ago, they confirmed that Sarri has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect.

He took up the job at the Allianz Stadium last summer, following a season in the Premier League with Chelsea.

He managed to get a 9th-straight Serie A title, and a whole host of mangers have since been tipped for the Juve post.

As per Sky Italia, former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi and Andrea Pirlo, recently named as the new U23 coach at Juventus, are all under consideration.
