FORMER Nottingham Forest and QPR star Junior Agogo has died, aged 40 in a London hospital.

The Ghanaian 27-cap international was hospitalized back in 2014 and 2015 after suffering a stroke just two years after he retired from football. Agogo revealed he was still in pain after-effects of his stroke which included limited movement in his right hand.

He spent two months in hospital and later said he also struggled with his speech – which reduced his confidence and it led him to feel isolated.

Agogo was making the most of life before his death through the posts on social media which showed him checking into a hotel, hanging out at a bar and posing for pictures during a break. He be remembered for his stellar African Cup of Nations performances in 2008, when he helped Ghana reach third place.

He scored 12 times for his country in just 27 games and also enjoyed a globe-trotting career that included spells in England, the US, Egypt and Greece.
