The FA Women’s Super League returned last weekend bigger and better as 12 clubs fight it out across the nine-month campaign. The expanded top-flight welcomes the arrival of Tottenham and Manchester United, but will they be competing for glory in their debut seasons come May.

Everton have the upper hand between the two teams following opening weekend, with three points on the board thanks to a win away to Birmingham City. Bristol were held at home to a 0-0 draw by an impressive Brighton side.

Manchester United Women faced rivals Manchester City last weekend. They will now play their first home game in the FA WSL at Leigh Sports Village against reigning champions Arsenal.

Casey Stoney’s side were defeated 1-0 as their cross-city neighbors recorded the victory.
