CS Amina Disbands Football Federation of Kenya (FKF)

Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed disbanded the federation that is led by Nick Mwendwa after the Football Federation of Kenya (FKF) allegations of gross financial impropriety.

The federation was disbanded after the CS received a report on the investigations into the massive fraud reported at the body. CS Amina went ahead to install a caretaker committee to lead the government’s efforts to reform the body.

The committee will be headed by retired Judge Aaron Ringera. The Ringera led committee will lead the federation for a period of six months.

The CS also named a secretariat that will help in running the affairs at the FKF. Linda Ogutu will head the secretariat with the assistance of Michael Muchemi (Secretary) and Loreen Shitubi (Joint- secretary).

The Kenya Women’s Premier League reverted back to the unified league format only a season after adopting a zonal system.

In an earlier interview, FKF boss, Nick Mwendwa had claimed that the CS wanted him out of office after the CS called for investigations into the embattled body.
