Chelsea host Bayern Munich at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night for the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie.
Chelsea beat rivals Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at Stamford Bridge with goals from Olivier Giroud and Marcos Alonso before an Antonio Rudiger own goal.
Chelsea qualified for the round of 16 as runners-up in Group H, above Ajax and Lille. The Blues were tied on 11 points and +2 goal difference with group winners Valencia, after losing their opening match at home to Valencia, and went the remainder of the group unbeaten.
Bayern Munich are the only side with a perfect record in the competition, winning six out of six in Group B which contained Tottenham Hotspur, Olympiacos and Red Star Belgrade.
Robert Lewandowski is the joint-leading scorer in the competition with 10 goals. Corentin Tolisso is the joint-second leading assist maker with 4 assists.
Bayern Munich maintained their one-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga with another win on Friday night, beating bottom side Paderborn 3-2 at the Allianz Arena. They have conceded in four of their last five matches in all competitions.
Bayern have only won two of their last six matches in England: This season’s 7-2 win at Spurs and 2017’s 5-1 win at Arsenal.
Chelsea and Bayern famously met in the 2012 final of the Champions League, and it finished 1-1 after extra time before Chelsea won 4-3 in the proceeding penalty shootout.

Jerome Boateng and Benjamin Pavard were both serving domestic suspensions and are available for selection.
Leon Goretzka is doubtful after missing Friday’s match through injury. Javi Martinez is another doubt but will hope to make Bayern’s matchday squad.
Ivan Perisic and Niklas Sule remain sidelined.
