The 139th FA Cup Final will be played behind closed doors.

This is the third time Arsenal and Chelsea have met in the final, with the Gunners winning both previous meetings, in 2002 and 2017.

Arsenal have been in more finals than any other club (21) and won the cup more than anyone else, doing so on 13 occasions.

However, in the Premier League, it’s been Arsenal’s worst season for 25 years, who finished eighth in the table and can only qualify for European competition next season by winning this final.

They beat Manchester City 2-0 in the semi-final; Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with a brace.

A day later, Chelsea beat Manchester United 3-1 in the other semi; Mason Mount and Olivier Giroud, who’s a four-time FA Cup winner, amongst the goals.

Chelsea finished fourth in Frank Lampard’s first season in charge.

Thus, the Blues are the favourites to beat Arsenal in a final just as they did in May 2019’s UEFA Europa League Final in Baku; a 4-1 demolition in Azerbaijan. Both have new Head Coaches and the XIs could be unrecognisably different.
