Brighton & Hove Albion have their third match of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign – against Manchester United on Saturday. As United seek their first points in the league, the hosts will be hoping for their second straight league win after the 3-0 thrashing of Newcastle United. Brighton started their season losing 3-1 to Chelsea, but recovered with a 4-0 win over Portsmouth in the Carabao Cup and then the win over Newcastle. The team has no win at home in the last five league matches – four losses and a draw, though these matches have come against tough opponents: Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United.
Manchester United recovered from their poor start this season with a win over Luton Town in the Carabao Cup third round and will be hoping to extend that when they face Brighton. United were eliminated from the Europa League by Sevilla, before starting their campaign with a 3-1 loss to Palace and in between they lost to Aston Villa in a preseason friendly game. They have beaten Brighton in each of their last three meetings, scoring at least twice in each of the three wins.
