- Shakhtar Donetsk have only won one of their last eight European home matches.

Shakhtar Donetsk play the second leg of their tie against Wolfsburg in which they lost 2-1 at home in a game that featured both teams missing penalties. The tournament will be conducted across four venues in Germany from the quarter-final point onward. The winners of this tie will face the winners of the Eintracht Frankfurt-Basel tie. Wolfsburg ended the Bundesliga season with a respectable seventh-placed finish, qualifying for next season’s Europa League.
