Borussia Dortmund will not sell Jadon Sancho for less than €110m (£97.2m) amid talks between the player’s agent and Manchester United.

The Red Devils are yet to make an official offer for the former Manchester City prospect.

Sancho joined Dortmund from Manchester City in August 2017 and has scored 31 goals in 90 appearances across all competitions for the Bundesliga side.

The ongoing COVID-19 situation will affect transfer dealings this summer as and it is unclear whether certain European leagues will finish traditionally.

“No matter how good Sancho is, there’s actually a limited market for him right now. Dortmund won’t sell to Bayern Munich, not just because they’re their biggest rivals but Dortmund are in a better financial position than when they sold players in the past like [Robert] Lewandowski. Liverpool are not in the market for £100 million players and they don’t need him. I’ve dealt with [Jurgen] Klopp – they’d rather pay half that amount for a player a step or two behind Sancho who they think they can improve. I’ve read the Chelsea speculation and I’m convinced that it’s the agents ramping up the talk to try and create an auction situation which would suit them and Dortmund.”

  • Man Utd have been heavily linked with a move for Sancho in recent months.
  • Dortmund are apparently unwilling to lower their €110m valuation of Sancho.
  • Liverpool and Chelsea were ruled out in the race to sign Sancho.
