Alexis Sanchez has no regrets over his move to Manchester United, despite a disastrous run of form since the switch from Arsenal in January 2018. He became the highest-paid player in the Premier League when he joined United in a swap deal featuring Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with his spell in Manchester coming to a halt when he joined Inter Milan on loan earlier this week.
Manchester City were also in the mix to sign Sanchez when he left Arsenal the Chilean international has stressed he is content he made the right move when he joined United.
“I’m very happy I went to Manchester United, I’ve always said that. It’s the club that’s won the most in England. When I went to Arsenal it was fantastic – I was happy there – but United were growing at the time, they were buying players to win something. I wanted to join them and win everything. I don’t regret going there.” Sanchez told BBC Sport.
“I was happy at Manchester United too, but I’ve always said to my friends: I want to play, If they would let me play I’ll do my best. Sometimes I’d play 60 minutes then I wouldn’t play the next game and I didn’t know why.” he added.
Sanchez went on to suggest his lack of playing time at United was the primary reason when he made the move to Inter Milan, where he will link-up with his former Old Trafford team-mate, Romelu Lukaku.
